The competition this year was not an exception, with England's David Lynn coming out on top this year with his second European Tour title. This was a great performance for Lynn, him having only won a tournament of this calibre once before - the KLM Open in 2004.
The 39 year old golfer began six shots off the lead but later charged forward with five birdies in a front nine of 30. It was a bogey on the 10th and further shots at the 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th that set Lynn ahead and gave him the points to win. Lynn was, as expected, very pleased with his performance, stating "I really caught fire on the front nine, I was making everything I looked at, although I hit it to one foot at first which got me off to a really good start. After that I made a couple of great putts for par to keep the momentum going and then I was making birdie putts."
David Lynn's performances made for very exciting spectatorship, while many other aspects of the competition also impressed.
